The file name of this picture is PETA. How true, but I like to believe that it stands for People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.

Go to PETA Parody. I think that this guy gets more "hate mail" than anybody else on the net. He was even accused of being a "front for the meat industry!"

How cool would this be?

- Poseidon Resorts

Not for the claustrophobic

For your TUNES

Sometimes on a long flight we like to "put up pin 4" which means to listen to some tunes. Not everyones mp3 player can put out enough power to hear over the roar of the trensmissions. Here is a little device that you can build to amplify adio devices.

It costs under $20 to build. All of the parts can be purchased through Radio Shack. Radio Shack does sell one similar but I am not sure how well it works and it's cost is over $20. I have seen others for about $100 (wow).

The system also works well if you want to listen to your headphones while mowing the lawn. Add on a NoiseBuster noise cancelling headphones ($40) and you will hear nothing but music. Sure beats paying $299 for the new Bose headphones.

Does anyone remember this day?

TH-67

It seems like so long ago since I was inside of one of these. Some of us talked about how much fun it would be if we had the chance to get back inside one of them even if just for a little while. Some of my best memories are S.E.F.s (Simulated Engine Failures) and Run-On landings.

Quick, quick, quick. Get 'em while they're cheap.

Can you believe that computers used to be that expensive? I remember as a young nerd, sitting in front of my Apple 2E. Here is what I could dig up about it:

Released: 1982
CPU: 6502, 1.00Mhz
ROM: 16 Kb
RAM: 64 Kb
Internal storage: - none
Display: 280x192x6 (monochromatic green screen)
Audio: beeper
Input/Output: expansion bus, tape interface, RGB port, (I even had a "heat" printer, woo hoo)

Compare that to my laptop:

Released: 2004
CPU: P4, 2.80GHz (thats 2867.00MHz)
RAM: 1.0 Gb (1048576 Kb)
Internal Storage: 60 Gb
Display: 17.0" widescreen display
Audio: Dual Harman/Kardon internal speakers
Input/Output: DVD-ROM/CD-RW; 4 USB 2.0 ports; 1 Firewire port; Infrared Port; 4x Memory card port

I can imagine that both computers probably cost about the same but they were top of the line at the time of their manufacturing. I wonder what the next 20 years will bring!
